YOUTH MINISTRY

The youth is the Church of today and tomorrow. They are called to share their gifts and talents and make a difference. We experience an encounter and develop a relationship with God, ourselves, and others in a different, renewed, and enjoyable way. Youth Ministry at St. Brendan Parish is Spiritual, Service, and Social. As a parish community, we offer this experience by means of our two youth groups. Together we make Jesus known and loved.

Wednesday: 7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. / September 11, 2019 – May 13, 2020

High School Youth Group / Grades 9-12 at Parish Center Room A

Middle School Youth Group / Grades 6-8 at Parish Center Room C

ST. BRENDAN PARISH YOUTH MINISTRY GOALS

Goal 1: To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

• Young people learn what it means to follow Jesus Christ and to live as his disciples today.
• The youth are empowered to serve others and to work toward a world built on the vision and values of the reign of God. 
• The youth encounter Jesus Christ and are offered a spiritually challenging and world-shaping vision that meets their hunger for the chance to participate in a renewed and worthy adventure.

Goal 2: To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.

• Young people experience the Catholic community of faith.
• Youth Ministry helps young people grow in faith as they experience life in community and actively participate in the mission of Jesus Christ and his Church.

Goal 3: To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

• Youth Ministry promotes the growth of healthy, competent, caring, and faith-filled Catholic young people. 
• The Church is concerned for the whole person, addressing the young people's spiritual needs in the context of his or her whole life. 
• Youth Ministry promotes and fosters positive development and growth in both Christian discipleship and Catholic identity.

MINISTERIO DE JOVENES

La juventud es la Iglesia de hoy y de mañana llamada a compartir sus dones y talentos y hacer una diferencia. Experimentamos un encuentro y desarrollamos una relación con Dios, con nosotros mismos y con los demás de una manera diferente, renovada y agradable. El ministerio de jovenes en la parroquia de San Brendan es Espiritual, de Servicio y social. Como comunidad parroquial, ofrecemos esta experiencia a través de nuestros dos grupos de jóvenes. Juntos hacemos a Jesús conocido y amado.

METAS DEL MINISTERIO DE JOVENES DE SAN BRENDAN

Meta 1: Capacitar a los jóvenes para que vivan como discípulos de Jesucristo en el mundo de hoy.
 

• Los jóvenes aprenden lo que significa seguir a Jesucristo y vivir como sus discípulos hoy.
• Los jóvenes son facultados para servir a los demás y para trabajar por un mundo basado en la visión y los valores del reino de Dios.
• Los jóvenes se encuentran con Jesucristo y se les ofrece una visión espiritualmente desafiante y global que satisfice su hambre por la oportunidad de participar en una aventura renovada y digna.

Meta 2: Atraer a los jóvenes a una participación responsable en la vida, misión y trabajo de la comunidad de fe católica

• Los jóvenes experimentan la comunidad católica de fe.
• El ministerio de jóvenes ayuda a las personas jóvenes a crecer en la fe al experimentar la vida en comunidad y participar activamente en la misión de Jesucristo y su Iglesia

Meta 3: Fomentar el total crecimiento personal y espiritual de cada jóven

• El ministerio de jóvenes promueve el crecimiento de jóvenes católicos sanos, competentes, solidarios y llenos de fe.
• La Iglesia se preocupa por la totalidad de la persona, abordando las necesidades de los jóvenes en el context de toda su vida.
